| | The Appleseed Cast | ] | Move over Shannyn Sossamon, cause I totally just met the girl of my dreams. While drinking at the Make out Room with aforementioned dream girl, some dude walked up and asked us if we wanted grilled cheeses. Naturally, we told him to fuck off. He informed me his name was DJ Food Court and every night he plays he makes food for the crowd. I took him up on it and he made me a really fantastic grilled cheese sandwich.
Earlier that night we grabbed dinner at Dossa, a super hyped up South Indian food place in the Mission. Let me tell you, it totally lived up to the hype, it was amazing. When the plates first came I didn't even know how to eat them, they had all these weird giant bread structures and dipping sauces, luckily, she knew what she was doing. You have to respect a woman who loves to eat.
I am going to Washington DC from Feb 26 to March 2. I'm totally excited to hang out with Amy and Greg and go to the Smithsonian, Vietnam Memorial, and the Lincoln statute thingy, I've never been to DC so I'm going to tourist that crap out of it.
City and Colour was absolutely fantastic last week. I also saw Adele at the warfield, her voice was absolutely out of control.
Looks like I will be spending valentines day watching The Appleseed Cast with Saito, could it get anymore gay and beautiful? I don't think so.
Time to eat some brownies and go check out the Chinese New Year Parade... |

God I love wii mario cart. chris is sitting to my left just slammin through the castle level and he continues to say "Bitches ain't shit but hoe's and tricks!" I really, truly, love him. Won my soccer game tonight, it's pretty sweet to be playing in a legit league again.
Last couple of days have been extremely good minus work but plus Obama's inauguration address so I guess it all evens out.
Saturday - Took the muni out to the Beach Chalet with Jamie and railed one of the best breakfasts of my life. It featured a Croque Madame, some weird fizzy mixed drink, and a sampler of local brewed beer. We then proceeded to fall asleep on the beach and then walk through the park. At night we went to the bow bow cocktail lounge to meet up with some friends from work. The bow bow cocktail lounge is an AMAZING karaoke bar in Chinatown with an awesome drunk old Asian lady bartender named "Candy" who drinks heavily with everyone. And you could smoke cigarettes inside. I also performed "Circle of Life" which was pretty sweet. After the bar went to 330 Ritch for a Davis friend's bday, it turned out to be a pretty fun dance club by the caltrain station.
Sunday - Made a day out of my desire to go In-N-Out. The only In-N-Out in the city is by fisherman's wharf. I tell you nothing makes In-N-Out taste more amazing than normal if you haven't eaten it in 3 months and you spend 3 hours walking and busing through San Francisco to get there. Jesus it was good. Later that night came home and beat Aladdin for Super Nintendo with Jamie and Alex.
Wow, what a lame entry. |

Saturday night was a perfect example of why I like San Francisco. Me, Christ Saito, and Chris Neighbor took the Muni down to the Retox Lounge, a little dive bar way out by Mission Bay. We watched some of my friend's bands from Livermore play in a smelly basement that's outfitted like the inside of an airplane. The basement reminded me of the old house shows I miss so much now. There were like eight bands on the bill, and they were full of the glorious band-member interbreeding that flourishes in the Livermore scene.
After several hours drinking heavily with crucial bros and listening to good vibes, we hoped back on the Muni and journeyed downtown to Ruby Sky, a pretty ritzi nightclub. Got there at Midnight and the neighbor girls were inside, with a friend that knew the owner, so we walked in for free, right up to the second story VIP area that overlooks the massive dance floor which was filled with sleezy dudes and slutty girls twerking it hard. Danced ridiculously till like 4am, drinking free top shelf booze and enjoying a positive ratio of women.
All in all, a very good combination of nightly activities.
Oh and New Years was fun, thanks to everyone who came to our place and tore it up. |

I got two tickets to the City and Colour show at Slim's in January! Now I just need to figure out who to take with me.
New Years Eve - Anyone in or around the San Francisco area should stop by during the night to enjoy copious amounts of Champagne, dancing, and hors d'oeuvres with me and my neighbors! It will be a blast yo. Not to sure where I'm going to be when the ball drops (my guess is Yancy's), but I know there will be some quality heads using my apartment as a party platform to jumpstart the night. |

I really need to address the personal coping mechanisms I utilize when faced with significant life issues. This propensity for self destruction is going to lead to some serious problems in the future. I feel horrible. Straight up 2 inches tall. Unfortunately, the simple solution to improve my mood is just so damn simple. What the hell was I thinking four months ago!?!?!?!?!? I desperately need to go visit some new place or person far away. I really need to get out of my own head for a day. |

| | Boys Night Out | ] | Happy Thanksgiving! In the Thanksgiving spirit, I would like to give thanks to places that have always given me comfort and safety over the years… bars. I've compiled a list of the Top 5 Bars of All Time and I would love to hear yours. I need something to keep my mind off our Thunderdome economy and so many of my friends getting fired.

The two most important people in my life several months ago (that weren't family members) are now gone. One I clearly forced away and the other claims I didn't force them away, but I know I played a role in their departure. I need to figure out why the people close to me are leaving. Maybe my selfishness is finally catching up. I had a killer weekend to share with LJ which included a hilarious lap dance and a magical trip to the beach, but this latest development just ice shanked my motivation. |

Well I'm stuck at work again while I wait for Charlie to debug the new website. This really fucking sucks. A normal person would get work done with the extra time they have to sit in the office but I would rather bitch and moan.
My weekend was pretty fun. Saw Quarantine, which was actually pretty scary and fun to watch. Obviously it's a movie made for cheap scares and jumps, and that's exactly what I wanted. Walking out of the Metreon with Charlie and the neighbor girls, we found ourselves in downtown sf at about midnight on a Friday, but instead of partying, we all decided it would be better to head back to our neighborhood and drink at Yancy's, where we would be safe in our familiar stomping grounds. I love my neighbors.
On Saturday I took a nap on my roof and while the sun set, which was pretty cheesy but it felt baller. Later, I enjoyed a pseudo date with a girl who doesn't drink or smoke. I can't remember the last time I met someone like that. She's an Academy of Art student who is fascinated with the city and was totally stoked about taking a cab. It was pretty refreshing to hang out with someone who wasn't completely jaded about life and miserable. She is someone who still finds joy with things in the world... a scarcity among my usual social circle. Later I Watched the Darjeeling unlimited for a second time, chronic movie.
I guess the pseudo date went well because I met back up with the girl on Sunday and hit up union square shopping. It was nice and PG-rated and almost disgustingly romantic. Usually I'm kindof attracted to the "bad" girl, but I dunno, something about this brings out the inner-bitch inside me. Maybe I'm going soft.

| | Joanna Newsome - Sprout and the Bean | ] | Sunset to Haight Pub Crawl 08 was a truly glorious failure. Everyone told me I would only get to a few bars but I believed that I could keep the group together, getting one drink at each bar, so we could hit the 15 bars I had planned on getting too. How wrong I was about my leadership skills... I didn't realize how severe everyone's alcoholism had become, since we only got to like 4 bars before the majority of us were completely trashed from taking tons of shots at each place. We had a good 15+ group, filled mostly with people from work and our neighbors, with a little bit of alex sprinkled in. It was a fucking blast and everyone went nuts, but the crawl itself was in shambles.
Being single again is really strange, I forgot what it was like. A lot lonelier and less glorious than I imagined when I wasn't single. The grass really is greener on the other side. Going backpacking up in Yosemite this weekend, I think it will be a nice detour, I haven't spent a weekend outside of the city since I moved here. Played disc golf today in Golden Gate with Alex and Charles. It was really fun, and for my first time I didn't do too bad. |
